Cautionary Tales – Chicago when it sizzles


July 1995. A lethal warmth wave gripped Chicago – bridges buckled; the facility grids failed; and the morgue ran out of house – however some neighbourhoods noticed extra deaths than others. After all, richer and leafier districts suffered much less, however poor locations the place social interplay was tough and loneliness an issue have been hit hardest of all.   

Does the Chicago warmth wave educate us that in coping with local weather change we have to think about not simply bodily infrastructure, however social infrastructure too?
